WTVR Channel 6 Assistant Program Director Doris Pavey has announced an exclusive deal with former VCU President Eugene Trani, signing him on for 113 episodes of "Eugene Trani's Celebrity Think Tank", sponsored by McGuire Woods Law Firm and several other entities impossible to identify.
"We are thrilled to bring the wacky goings-on of Mr. Trani's Think Tank to the viewers of Virginia," Pavey said in a press release, "Viewers will be setting aside their Thursday nights to tune in to see who Mr. Trani will welcome into the think tank this week, and what issues vital to the Richmond area they will discuss."
Both local and national-caliber Celebrities have been signed on to guest cameo appearances in the think tank, including VCU's own Bob Holsworth, Art maven Pam Reynolds, and all 47 members of the Gottwald family. "In one episode Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones will join the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders in the think tank to discuss collaborative 21st century infrastructure processes inherent to central Virginia's current mercantile climate and try a dandy salsa recipe" said Pavey.
Pavey said the format of the 1-hour show will be similar to that of the old Dean Martin show. "Each week the show will open with Mr. Trani answering a knock on the door, then opening it to reveal this week's guest joining him in the think tank," she said. "We have commitments from Florence Henderson, Stella Stevens, Barbara Eden - and I hear Raquel Welch may be stopping by!"
A pilot episode viewed by Newsfromdoswell featured Chesterfield County honcho Lane Ramsey and funnyman Tim Conway, who had Ramsey in stitches with his "million-and-Wonderful" celebrity spoofs as they debated Fort Lee expansion.
"Eugene Trani's Celebrity Think Tank" will debut September 10, 2010 at 9 PM on channel 6.
