Doswell "Talking House" Now Telling Local Kids to Start Fires

In a situation now deemed "over the top" by local residents, the infamous Doswell "Talking House" (a house for sale on Blanton Road) is now telling local kids on their car radios to start fires.

Attempts to locate the source of the transmission has been a frustrating for local residents. "We've torn that property apart trying to find that frigging transmitter" states neighbor John Irvin, who initially reported the foul-mouthed, racist language used originally by the talking house, whose owners now live out of state.

Apparently the home is locked up tight, but the realtor, Creighton Hogg, says that he is not responsible for the irresponsible broadcast, and that he has searched the house looking for the source of the transmission and cannot locate it. "I did not set this up as a talking house, and I cannot be responsible for the content of the broadcast,: he says, adding that the broadcast seems to be live, and not a recorded loop, like normal.

Local kids and teens shrug at the suggestions offered by the errant broadcast. "It don't bother me none," said one slack-jawed youth who wandered over in front of the sign, carrying a little AM receiver and a gas can, "I'm capable of startin' fires without a radio voice tellin' me to."

The broadcasts began around June 1 of this year. The transmission blankets a 4-mile radius and interrupts not only AM and FM frequencies, but cell phone service, satellite TV, wireless internet and HAM radio. The owners of the house, a family named Walton, have moved out of state and cannot be located.
