Doswell Blogger Thankful he was not Third Celebrity Death This Week

Doswell blogger and minor celebrity Dale Brumfield does not wish ill will toward actor Karl Malden, but he is relieved Malden was the third in the latest Hollywood Death triumvirate, following the deaths of Michael Jackson and pitchman Billy Mays.

Brumfield has come out of hiding, comfortable in the fact that he has been spared. “Karl Malden was a great man, and his work in the American Express ‘What will you do? What will you do?’ commercials will go down as classic,” says the relieved Brumfield. “I think we all should bow our heads and say a little prayer for the repose of the soul of Mr. Malden, and for the fact that I am still here.”

As reported by Newsfromdoswell June 29, Brumfield went into seclusion upon hearing of the back-to-back deaths of first Michael Jackson then Billy Mays. Fearing he was going to be the third, per Hollywood lore of famous people dying in threes, Brumfield locked himself in his Doswell basement, refusing any visitors or even food and water for fear of an accidental death, fulfilling the celebrity prophesy.

“We experienced a great loss this week of Jackson, Mays and Malden, just as we did the previous week with Carradine, Fawcett and McMahon,” says Brumfield, “But by golly I’m still here. By the way, what’s this thing on my neck?”
