Doswell Man Abducted by Floating Smoke Ring Seen Over Kings Dominion Last Weekend

Dixie Treat Mobile Home Court resident Thurman Brown has not been seen since that mysterious smoke ring was seen floating over Kings Dominion in Doswell, leading his common-law wife Maddy to conclude he was abducted by the mysterious object (see video of the unidentified smoke ring here)

“Thurman always said he was prepared to be abducted by saucers and such,” claims Maddy, who also said Thurman was in that group of UFO enthusiasts who mistakenly held a convention in Doswell instead of Roswell in 1959 due to a typo on the invitations.

There have been numerous mysterious sightings around the Doswell-based theme park since it opened in 1974. In 1998 a headless man was reported to be seen riding the Volcano ride. It turned out to be a torso-shaped water barrel used in testing.

In 1982 the former Galaxie ride disappeared without a trace, and the following year two dolphins from the former dolphin show did the same.

In 1986 a large group of what was initially reported as “little men in white space suits” turned out to be a crew of Japanese engineers in Doswell to construct the Shockwave ride. Finally in 1996 a “crop circle” was found cut in the soccer fields adjacent to the park, but it was proven to be a marketing campaign for the Flight of Fear ride.

But none of these explain the disappearance of Mr. Brown. “I ‘spect he’ll show up eventually, probably poked, prodded and probed, as usual,” say Maddy, without explaining what she meant. Newsfromdoswell doesn’t want to know.
